406 Superram- Cam and heads question
I have a 406 sbc and the superram intake. I'm in need of a roller hydr cam and aluminum heads(AFR). I also have a paxton for it. Any ideas on cam and head sizes?

i've heard the 195's are good as well as the 190's tfs twisted wedge heads flow a compareable amount also as for a cam thhe list goes on and on fortthat big inch motor you'll need a healthy stick maybe 240+ on the duration i haven't used one of their cams yet but tpis makes em givetthem a call for a catalog

I currently have the trick flow heads and had them ported, and running about the same c.i. you are but I wish i had gotten heads in the 200 to 215 range. I think the 400 would love them with some decent gears to keep the velocity up.If not t.f.'s well work fine.I think t.p.i.s. is over rated in the cam area ,c.cams have a great selection to choose from.Btw afr will confirm the higher ports for your 400.good luck!!!

i dont know what kind of psi your supercharger runs at...but i had a paxton sn93 i think it was 8lb (is this correct gurus) and that was rated on a 305, a chick at paxton started getting into static pressure and flow vs. dimension... (she sounded like an engineer for the company)
but anyway she told me that on a big inch motor (i tried it on a 409 but didnt run it long enough to tune it) it would only create about 1.5-2 lbs of boost. so weather or not she had her head in the sand or not...it sounds reasonable..so get a good high pressure or else i would say its not worth runnin it on big inches
theres my $.02
