Anyone Siamese the stock runners?
I recall seeing a picture from TPIS where they took stock runners, cut them open and welded a plate joining the two runners together.
Anyone tried this with success?
I know those tubes are thin, so welding would be a pain.
Mark.

I think you just answered your own question
It'd take a might spendy TIG and ALOT of patience (and runners) to get it right.
But hey if ANYBODY can do this, LEMME SEE!

Yes, it would take some time to weld it and you will have to have the runners filled with "protection gas" when you weld it to make it easeier, but It wont be easy even if you have a stady hand.

On another forum, someone said TPIS did these with their large tube runners and were going to market them but they had problems with the welds coming apart so they dont sell them in their catalogs.

the guy i bought my motor from did tons of work with tpi cars, corvette mostly ,he raced a corvette...road/top speed 300+ he had every type of intake setup possible and the 2 guys the were his mechanics/pit crew fabbed up all sorts of wild things, and i saw a set of siamesed stock runners. dont know how they worked, but i know it wouldnt really work if you had the ones with the cold start tube? i think it was the cold start tube..but maybe it was egr tubing.
anyhow it can be done, for a welder with a plasma cutter it would not be very difficult to do. but the ones i saw did not look pretty!
but hey.. i got my motor and intake and all my other parts from the guy ,used and got a good deal too...too bad he gave up and sold everything (no more parts for me)
