I really want to get the fast burn 385 with hot cam engine.....but the base is really holding me back from making the purchase.....anyone have any idea when it will be coming out? It probably wont be until the end of the year until I put the engine in...but I want to build it outside the car so I can just throw her in.

I wouldn't hold my breath any longer for the Vortec TPI base. TPIS already has the Miniram III for the Vortec heads, so I just don't understand what is taking so long with the Vortec base. I'd get the Miniram III instead.

you'd have to swap out your tpi for the Mini Ram III or the Holley Vortec EFI unit. the tpis one, www.tpis.com , has the throttle body if front, the Holley one has it on top like the original Vortec trucks. www.holley.com . You can also put on a Ram Jet, www.sdpc2000.com but I don't know if anyone has made it run with stock computer yet.

None of those have provisions for EGR though right? I still need to pass inspection....thats why Im waiting for the vortec tpi base....otherwise...I guess i'll need to find out what the best heads for the LT4 HOT cam are. Any ideas?? (Aluminum heads)

I e-mailed SDPC about the Vortec base and they ignored me, so I don't know what to think.

Mult68, I'd go with the AFR heads, in test after test they come out on top.
