22lb injectors on a stock 305????
Right now I have a stock TBI 305 plus whats listed on my sig. I will be switching to TPI within the next couple of months...I am in the process of bidding on a tpi system on ebay.....however it came off of a 350 IROC...so im pretty sure it will be coming with 22lb injectors....this is actually a good thing since I will be getting a 350...but this wont be for another year or so....anyways, someone told me that I could either go with an AFPR and turn it all the way down (though this would cause problems) or I should (ideally) get a chip thats programmed for these injectors. First...I would RATHER get an AFPR...but what sort of problems would I run into? Second...If i do need to get a chip...where can I get it from and how much would it cost? (i want my car to run...and get as much mileage as possible...not concerned with performance as much just yet) Would it just be cheaper/less of a hassle to get new 19lb injectors? Thanks for the info. Oh and one last thing...of course of the injectors are bad...I'll go ahead and buy new injectors (i think injectors can be rebuilt..so I'll keep the 22lb ones and rebuild them later) but is there anyway to tell whether or not the injectors are bad before putting them in the car and watching them leak? Thanks.

If you run with a chip that is setup for 22 lb injectors, and we're talking about a MAF TPI system, there should be no problems, since the ECM will adjust the injector pw according to the amount of airflow....
