knock sensor and false knock ??
it seems that i have false knock.. when i used scan tool it shows that i am getting 4' retard. the thing is timeing is set a 6' and only mods are 1 3/4 headers with full 3" exhaust and flow master, high flow cat and just finished porting plehiem and have afpr set at 48lbs. how can i verify that this is false knock and if it is can i disconect knock sensor and will that cause a problem with ecm? its a L98 87 GTA

I heard that if the sensor is tightened to much that it will become more sensitive to detonation and retard timing because of normal engine noise. Have you recently repalced the sensor and/or improperly torqued it? Or maybe the headers damaged the wires to it?
