Car: 86 z28
Engine: 355 113 heads ported HSR hot cam
Transmission: th350
Axle/Gears: 7.5 342
gm ramjet 350 camshaft
bought a gm ramjet camshaft. roller new take out.. would this be a good cam for my 305 tpi with auto trans 342 gears. was a great deal..what to you think. sep are 196 in/206 ex 431in/451ex lift.

that cam would run good in a 305 tpi. but is your car a 86 if it is and your motor is stock then it dont have a roller cam in it. so to use that cam you would need to get a set of retro fit roller lifters .

oh thats good then. that cam should wake it up a bit. i would put it in there its better than stock

Well, it's bigger than your stock cam, which was the "peanut cam" in an 87/TPI/Auto application, but it's not really a very big cam.
I never understood why GM put such a tiny cam in the RamJet when it looks like it was just begging for something more aggressive. I guess they figured most guys would be putting the RamJet in their work truck or something. Here's a quote from GM about that cam:
