Does the air dam help the car run cooler?

Does the air dam help the car run cooler? If not, I am thinking about taking it off, its pretty annoying scraping it everytime I go through a dip in town. Will my car run a lot hotter if I take it off, I know its there to get more air to the radiator.

To answer your questions: yes! The air dam does keep your car cooler. It channels air to help cool the fluid in your radiator, and yes, if you take it off, your car will run hotter. Believe me, it's worth it to have it scrape now and then.

...and a TA has even more of a problem due to the lack of ventilation openings in the fascia. A bigger air dam is even better, and yes, it's worth a little scraping and rubbing:

LEAVE IT,THE DAM IS USED TO DIRECT AIR UP.A WIDER DAM WILL TAKE AIR AWAY FROM YOUR FRONT BRAKES.IT MIGHT ALSO HELP FEED MORE AIR TO THE TPI.

Let's just say my car ran about 30-40 degrees hotter without the air dam! You'll regret it if you take it off!!

I won't take it off. Also make sure it's in good condition or it won't help keep the rad. cool.
