I think this may be a pass key / vats problem. the engine has been swapped into a 85 truck. i have wired in a resistor but i may have the passkey box wired wrong
so how do i verify that the injectors are firing?

What you can do is go to the local Auto Zone or Advanced Auto and ask for a "Noid light" set. $20 bucks will get you that set. I had problems with my injectors firing, the quality of the Venom injectors sucked was the problem, but enroute to finding that out I had to distinguish if the injectors were even receiving the electric signal from the computer to fire. The noid light set comes with different connectors that have lights in them, when turning the engine over or while running with this connector in it, you will see the light pulsing. If the light isn't pulsing as the engine turns over, the injector isn't firing. Instructions are in the box, i was unaware of it til I used it. Good luck!

What do you do if only one side of your engine has the injectors pulsing? How do you get the other side to pulse?

my issue was vats. I did not have it powered right.
if only one side is firing you have a wiring issue in the injector wiring or a bad ECM.

ECM only grounds the injectors to make them fire.
730 and 165 ecm only have one injector driver so if one bank goes down it most likely blew one of the inj fuses. Each bank has its own power, the ground is the common between the two.
If one bank is down, u have wiring issues(short to grd from positive) or bad injectors(although they dont blow the fuses to often, Ive only seen it once), they tend to overheat the injector driver and shut down, also be a fluke bad fuse not common but it does happen as well.

I'd like to verify one thing said up above about the noid light....
IF the noid flashes, does that mean the injector actually fired, or only that the ECM told it to fire?
