valve stem seal clearance question
Manley part# 22410
part# 23652 retainers
if i buy both of these and stick them in my 081 heads with screw in studs of course ill be able to run a zz4 cam with no problems to the valve stem seals correct?

That is correct, you should not have a problem using a ZZ4 cam with those Manley springs and retainers. Remember to change the valve stem seals with another set of stock ones to eliminate the puff of smoke on startup.

also will i have to get a set of new locks/keepers for use with those springs and retainers? also will i or should i shim the spring for the extra height from the offset retainer?

actually instead of all this could i just buy +.050 locks/keepers and just get new springs and use my stock retainers?

No, the stock retainers only fit with the stock springs and they're big and heavy anyway. You dont want to keep them.

You'll probably need to shim the springs to achieve the proper installed height of the springs. Most times, it's 1.7" or 1.75". You really need to use a valve spring height micrometer if you want to get it right. Using the offset retainers will probably cause the installed height to be off without shimming accordingly.
