Idle issues
Hello everyone, my issue is that my 1989 T/A with a 350ci wont go above a certain rpm. sometimes it wont go above 2400rpms. other days it wont go above 3k and or 4k. I but this car off my aunt and it is in great shape, no rust on it at all. she bought it 3yrs ago, but let it sit alot. sometimes 8-10months at a time before starting it up. since i bought it off of here i have done the following:
New: Spark plugs, new Cap, new synthetic oil, oil filter, air filter, new spark plug wires, new cats, new fuel filter, new O2 sensor. when she bought it she had a flowmaster exhaust put on.
Also, the other day i was cutting grass and i had it running for about 10 minutes. i went to go near it and it just stalled. once the car shuts off it wont start back up. i have to let the car sit 20minutes before she allows me to start her back up.
Sorry for the long message, but this is my baby and she dont want to run. any help i would greatly apperciate it.

Re: Idle issues
sounds like a fuel pump or ignition module. Both will shut off or not work as well when they get hot. Next time it dies check for spark of fuel pressure, when checking spark, look at quality as well as if it's sparking at all. Takes a lot less energy to spark in open air then under pressure, look for a bright blue spark, if it's orangish or pale it may be weak. Check the fuel filter as well, may be restricting fuel flow, and yes it can be erratic.
