Air Foils, why some w/ holes and some w/o?

I currently have an air foil installed that completely seals the "AIC port" I guess you can say. I recently aquired one with two holes at the bottom of the foil, allowing air into the middle "AIC port" area in the throttle body. How important is this and can this relate to my somewhat unstable idling? It varies from 500 to about 650 RPM during warm up. Up and down, up and down.

You need to switch out those airfoils. You definately need those holes so air can pass through to the IAC passages. By the way, what kind of airfoil do you have in there right now that doesn't have those holes?? I have yet to see one.... is it homemade?

The Jet Airfoil has the holes...as far as other go, I'm not sure. I can remember seeing the TPIS on in a pic once and it did NOT have the holes.

I HAD a TPIS airfoil in mine and it had a semicircle hole along the very bottom IIRC... I switched to the JET becuase of the sharper profile.

I stand corrected. It does have a little hole at the very bottom.

I currently have the one like the one on the left installed. I like it because it's bolted in place, but it's not as smooth as the Jet (the one on the right). I have both. So now I'm debating on which one I want in there. The Jet looks much smoother and is a simple install, plus it looks like it allows more air into the AIC port area, whereas the one on the left doesn't look like allows much at all.
