Diagnostic tool/software

I think it's time for something like auto xray or something similar. What are the different products available to monitor an '87 TPI car? I have a Win95 laptop if needed.
Thanks

Theres a few of them. Auto Xray, Diacom, Diacom plus

All of them can link to a labtop.
I have the Auto X ray 240 i believe it's called. Scans ford chrysler and GM. Does enough for me. Easy to use. Just wish it had backlit display. To use a labtop with it I have to get a $89 cable. But you really don't need it

The diacom is around $259 i think. Supposed to be more of a useful tool for chip burners than auto xray due to the greater amount of data it can store. Auto xray for GM only is $179 from summit. Auto xray for GM,chrysler and ford is $340. I got my auto xray off ebay for $140 shipped. Keep your eyes open.

Car: 89 Turbo Trans Am and lots of non-3rd gens
Engine: 231 SFI Turbo's, LT4, LT1
Transmission: 2004r, 4L60E
Check out this web site, it lists several and you can even download some on trial basis. I have DataMaster and it logs absolutely everything and you can graph anything. It stores an unbelievable amount of stuff. Its about $100 plus cable if you don't already have one.
Diacom is more like $500+, at least the copy I found, and it is DOS based. IMO DataMaster records more and is more flexible and is Windows based.
You can download a FREE copy of DataMaster at this site and use it to record 20 runs before it locks up. Contact Andrew of AKM for any questions and to see if it works for an 87 TPI, he's great help.
