Snapon scanner and burners
I an courious to find out if anyone has done this. I have an older snapon scanner with all the plugs and adapters. The plugs all have a com port type connector. I and use the scanner to read all the data when the car is running so here are my questions.
1. instead of getting the APU1 AutoProm will the burn 1 be more then adaquite.
2. I have seen some com to usb adapters what programs would work with this
Thanks

Re: Snapon scanner and burners
Since you have an MT-2500 (and data cartridge, GM-1 DLC adapter, cables, etcetera) to read data, about all you need to program is the actual programmer (like a Pocket Programmer) and software to edit binary files (Like TunerPro). You're already able to read O² sensor data, Integrator, Block Learn Memory, and injector PW (along with a buch of other parameters) to enable you to check the results of your programming.

Re: Snapon scanner and burners
Thanks for the reply, Yes I do have the MT-2500. do you know if I can just get a com to usb adapter and plug directly into the aldl and datalog with the turner pro rt?
I decider to get the burn1 and tuner pro from moates. Sofar reburning the $6e mask with the vats disabled was a breeze. I was quite shocked how easy it was. Now all I need to do is learn what the fuel and spark tables and how to correctly adjust them.
About the only problem I have run into is saving the bin from the chip to the computer and getting the turnerpro to open it up. I am guessing you just need to mod the origional bin (the one I downloaded) , save it and note what changes then burn it to the chip. Then next time open the moded bin and tweek the changes again, erase the chip and reburn it. I think this is correct aand I am not over working it.
