Need measurement off MAF car, help

I am working on a custom setup. I am needing a measurement of the rubber tube that goes between the maf and TB. Or what the distance is between the two when the tube is gone. Then also, how much stretch or compression does that rubber part have?

Reason why I need this is that if the distance is close, I will spend the 20+ and buy the part. If its not, then I need to make a part.

Re: Need measurement off MAF car, help

The MAF doesn't need to be at a specific point. Anywhere after the filter and before the throttle body, will work.

While your at it, move the IAT, out from under the plenum to the air tube. More accurate, and it won't get heat soaked.

Stephen, I'm planning to use the stock dual snorkle system, and yes my IAT is in it(just need to extend my wires to it)

Re: Need measurement off MAF car, help

What is the measurements there now? Looks kinda close to my GTA space, from my TB to intake box. I can measure it, and see if something like that will work for you.

Re: Need measurement off MAF car, help

Actually, that is the stock setup. The later years got those ribbed tubes and such. My MAF is under the box with the WS6 vinyl decal I made. I was wondering about vinyl life in the underhood heat. A year and a half later, and the WS6 on the intake tube is still there, no peeling, and the small flame pattern I made, is on the upper plenum, no peeling. I'm actually surprised they both are still good, but I only use the high quality vinyl, I just didn't expect it to be THAT good!

This will work for you, provided the MAF itself will fit.

6" outer to outer

1" lip for the screw clamps

4" closest to closest

Now, the box opening is oval, whereas your MAF appears to be round. I'm betting the tube could conform to your round MAF. Only question is, is the opening too large to fit, even "compressed"?
