Car cranks but won't start
I THOUGHT I had my TPI swap done, but I guess I have more work than I thought.
After one false start, the car was running long enough to be timed (Several minutes).
After that, the car would stall out more and more frequently, and now it's at the point where it will stall out immediately unless I give it some gas while starting it, and even then it runs extremely rough and stalls out once I get off the gas.
- I've got about 5 gallons of gas in the car, so that's fine.
- I can't get ALDL data from my autoprom, which worries me. It is my first time using it however, so I could be doing it wrong. Which way should the two switches on the back be facing for ALDL data from a '730?
I was thinking this sounds like it could be a bad mem-cal?
My other alternative, which I didn't check yet, is a fuel problem. I have a used fuel pressure gauge hooked up to the fuel rail, and it didn't show any pressure when the fuel pump started up, although I'm not even sure if the gauge works.
Think I should check the fuel lines as well for a clog?
After attempting to start the car, I swear that I hear fuel sloshing somewhere, but I can't find any leaks.

Can you give a few more details? SD or MAF? any codes? First thing is to check your fuel pressure with a known good guage. The fuel sound you are hearing should be the excess fuel returning to the tank.

Re: Car cranks but won't start
My fault, I'm new at this so I didn't know what details to include.
It's a SD system running AUJP.
I couldn't get any ALDL data with my autoprom, and I didn't have a paperclip on me so I couldn't ground A and B on the connector to check for codes.
When I do, I should be looking for a code 12 followed by any additional codes, right?
What if I don't get a code 12?
Oh, and it's a brand spanking new pump, new rubber lines and filter at the pump running to -6 AN braided steel feed and return lines. I also had the injectors recently cleaned/tested. The only thing used in the fuel system is the fuel rail/regulator.

Re: Car cranks but won't start
I just ran across town to my car (It's at my grandmother's) and it keeps flashing a code 12 (one flash, pause, two flashes) over and over, but no other codes.
Following my service manual for a 91 camaro, if I'm seeing a code 12 but no ALDL data, I should then "Check serial data CKT 461 for open or short to ground between ECM and ALDL.
If that's ok, then it might be a faulty ECM or Memcal.
So uh...what/where is CKT 461?
And if you guys think I'm barking up the wrong tree, let me know!

No codes, I would check fuel pressure as the next step.

Re: Car cranks but won't start
Alright, so here's what I did tonight:
Disconnected the supply line from the fuel rail and ran the pump (Key on)...got a ton of fuel out, so I'm assuming that everything is ok with the supply line.
Reconnected the supply line to the fuel rail, pulled the fuel rail out so the injectors were outside the manifold, and turned the key to On again...no leaks from the injectors.
This sounds like a faulty fuel pressure regulator to you guys?
Also, any tips on how to replace one? Is it just a spring/diaphram that needs to be replaced?
