Auto X-Ray 6000 users, plz step inside, 383TPI tuning
For those that own and use a Auto X-Ray 6000, please let me know how useful it has been for you with a 165 ECM on a TPI setup.
Are you able to view TPS voltage, O2 voltage, IAC steps, Tming advance/retard, and BLMs? or any of the above?
Have you ever had an instance of an ECM having codes, yet scanner says there are none?
Can you get a graph/log of IAC activity with it?
Thanks in advance. I had picked up a new Innova 3140 scan tool a while back, and despite it's claims of OBD I compatibility, it stated (after scanning for them) that there were no codes present; despite there being a code for MAF, and lean in ECM - retrieved via paperclip.
I would like to buy a tool which is actually useful to thirdgenners, so any input would be helpful.
I have just completed a a swap from 305 TBI to 383TPI and I really need to troubleshoot an intermittent "LEAN" code condition, which is actually very rich. I have 30lb injectors, and an MSD inline pump. I have a custom prom from Fastchips set for 160* therm, inj size, and ZZ4/3 cam. I will be switching to a heated O2 before I play with this again.

I either have the AutoXray 5000 or 6000 and it tells me what all my sensors are saying when it's running and even when I just have the car on. It's really helpful in my opinion.

Do you have a laptop? If so you can get a ALDL datalogging cable and software like TunerPro to datalog everything as far as i know. it will tell you all active error codes also. also im pretty sure that everything that is logged can be shown in a graph.
You could take it a big step further by getting the equipment to burn your own chips too, the DIY-PROM board has more info than you would probably want about it haha..

Thanks guys.
I recently picked up a laptop, and have been using tunerprort. It is extremely helpful.
However, it would be cooler if some of the values displayed in tunerpro were designated table or sensor (reading) values. Like, I'll see values for MAF displayed even with sensor unplugged.
