Size of fuel pressure test valve (schrader valve)?
I need to know the exact size of this and if it's male or female? I've heard it's a 1/4" male. but I bought a female 1/4" brass fitting at Lowes and it does not fit. The test valve seems smaller than 1/4".
thanks

It is not standard pipe thread. The fitting you bought is most likely NPT (national pipe thread) but the schrader valve is actually a special tubing thread. Pipe threads are tapered, the schrader threads are not. I am not sure what the actual size is, but it is the same as R-12 freon connections on your air conditioner. I used a small piece of a/c charge line to make my fuel pressure guage. Not sure what your doing, but that is what I did. If you want to buy a realativly inexpensive guage, Autozone carries a couple of different ones. Check the application on the instructions, there are 2 different schrader valve sizes.

Hey guys you're right thanks for the help. I went to Pep Boys and bought the air conditioning hose that handles up to 500psi without birsting. Then I got heat wrap hose to wrap around it for safety.
Thanks guys!
