Do I need to get the whole pick up assembly or can I just replace that little assembly on the float??

You have to get the whole assembly, and it is about $400 from dealer. Check with http://Thirdgenparts.com that is where I bough mine for a great price. If you tell Jim that Bernard Tripp sent you, you might give you a better price. Hope this helps.
