can i use these springs
hey i was wondering would stock 93-97 LT1 trans am springs work in my car if so would it be able to handle the lift of the powermax 2032 cam thats rated at 482/496 lift... i dont want to spend lots of $$$$ on springs.. also where can i get a good set of 1.6 rocker arms that are not too expensive.. are there some ebay i can use that cost under 150.00 dollars....
i have an 88 trans am gta with a 350 engine in it...

Re: can i use these springs
You can have a cam with .482/.496 lift, or you can have a set of 1.6 rockers, but you cant have both with stock heads. The lift on that cam even with 1.5 rockers will cause the stock retainers to hit the valve guides. The stock LT1 springs are better than L98 springs, but you still dont have clearance to run a cam larger than .480 lift.
Search around on this forum for info on camshafts with stock heads, you'll see everyone else's answers.

well the powermax 2032 cam has a 452/462 with 1.5 rockers... and 482/.486 with 1.6 rockers.. i thought that the maximum lift the stock heads can take was .500 and plenty of people are using that cam in there engines without head work..
