Hi! The last time I check O'Reillys had the cheapest and best ones, I think it ran $160 USD with a 3 month warranty.

Yeah, I've seen a pretty high range of prices. Thatsthe lowest I've seen, all the way up too $350. Depends on who and where you're getting them from.

Were I you, and knowing what I know about the cost of the '85's MAS, I'd make damn, damn, DAMN sure it was a bad MAF and not a bad MAS since people have been reporting MAS prices around $500-$800 new.

Just went through this with advance.
New maf (aftermarket) 168.00
Ended up bringing it back cause car was surging and wouldnt pull past 4000 rpm
Reman maf 183.00, car runs kinda rich but pulls hard to 5500.
New maf 798.00, sorry but I would switch to SD before spending that kind of money.

You guys really need to get the MAF off the brain, they don't go bad nearly as much as people believe. On the '85 the MAS is the 'ouch' factor. ~$150 vs. ~$700+ and next to impossible to find. And a $700+ MAF will never sell, where the hell did you find a price like that for a MAF?!?
Likeistoleit, apparently your MAF wasn't the issue.
On top of it all, the '85 MAF is supposed to be different than the latter year cars to boot, but the ecm seems, from reports on here, to be compatable with the latter year MAFs.

i just bought the maf sensor from autozone for 168 and it is working fine in my car. my old one was so bad that it would just put no power to the engine randomly whil hitting the accelerator easily or hard.
even thought it runs fine now, my check engine light still comes on. in the box i got it says that there is also a fault with the code it sends out for being faulty........im thinking it has to be this b/c the othr code option is the ignition and i completely redid that a month ago.
