No start without starting fluid.

Hi, I have a 1989 Formula 350 Firebird. After sitting for a few days the car will start up fine. If you try to restart it after shutting it off it will just turn over and over again without starting. You can take starting fluid and spray it in the plenum and it will start up and run fine. Starting is the only problem. It has new fuel pump, fuel filter and has 45psi of fuel pressure when it won't start. Car runs great after getting it started. When car is started it runs very
good on the highway or in town. If you shut it off you have to use starting fluid to get it restarted. New plugs also. I have changed computer and used a different chip in the computer but nothing has worked so far. I put a new
ignition module in it and it wouldn't even start so I carried it back and they checked it and it was ok. I put the new one in 3 times and it would not work either time. Put my old one in and a little starting fluid and it started right up.
New one wouldn't work with starting fluid. Needless to say they wouldn't take it back because it checked good on their machine. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks, Buck

next time buy from oriellys. i work there and we will take the return. If you installed a pre 89 prom in place your issue is because anything before 89 had a cold start injecto to add fuel for the initial start whereas 89 and newer have the additional fuel programmed into the normal cylindar injectors. will it start if you pedal it?

Any proms changed were for a 1989 up. I only purchased the ignition module
from Advance auto. I have tried 2 different computers and 3 known good proms. Thanks for the reply. No matter what you do with the gas pedal it
will not start until adding starting fluid to the throttle body.
