My car dies at idle and I can't hear the fuel pump prime anymore.
Yesterday I went to start my 87 Formula 5.0 TPI and it fired up hit 1000rpm, then died. Normally when I start her up I can hear the fuel pump prime, but now I can't. I would also like to note that my MAF is unplugged because I can't afford a new one at the moment. The odd thing is that she runs fine without it plugged in, what is going on?

WTF?!? Ok, first diagnosis... MAF is unplugged. Great idea. If you can't afford to replace it, that means you can't afford to drive the car. Fix that first. Probably a MAF realy not the MAF, but you knew that searching right?
To test the fuel pump, apply 12v to the 'G' terminal of the aldl.

I knew an '85 MAF car would run without the MAF plugged in, but I had no idea that an '87 could do that. Intriguing. Get your MAF working before you dive in to the fuel pump, that's a rather time consuming job.

Ill give all the advice i can to someone who wants to the the job in their driveway cause they have no other options. The first option i offer is that a shop(locally) will charge about 200 bucks to do the job. I've done a fuel pump on the driveway twice before and i can prolly help u out.
