OEM type plug wires have 2 diff. types of ends -- where do they go, how are they rout

Hi guys, I am finishing putting a 1987 TPI engine into a previously V6 1983 Firebird. I got a stock replacement set of wires for the 87 engine. I am still running log manifolds w/ all the AIR equip from the 87 setup. There are two types of ends on the wires -- 3 of them are straight boots and the other 5 are 90 degree angle boots. What cylinders get the straight boots? I don't see how the short 90 deg. angle boots will be able to clear the manifolds without getting burned. Are the wires routed underneath the manifold and then out the back, up to the distributor? I have the big heat shield intact on each side but the plug wire clips underneath are gone -- how have you guys routed wires with manifolds without the factory clips?I have always owned cars with headers, so I have no idea how the factory wires are routed with manifolds. Help! I'd like to have this running tomorrow. I am still using the TPI's remote coil small cap HEI setup by the by.

I routed over the top of the valve covers but I'm not sure if they were the OEM wires. I did run them for a short time until I made a set of the MSD Super conductors.
Best to keep trying different lengths till they come out ok.
The straights should fit on most spots, 90's for in the center positions where you'll need a bit more clearance. My LG4 had metal sleeves over the straight boots because some did touch the manifolds. I think you'll just have to find the best fit you can and live with it.

Factory routing is below the manifold.

I think that 1,3,5,7 get the 90 degree boots under the log and 2,4,6 get the straight boots while 8 gets the last 90 and they go over the valve cover. But im not sure i might have 2 & 8 mixed up. Hope i can help Alex
