I have been waiting for a follow up article for about 6 months and it finally has come out this month. Its called something old something new. This months is at the machine shop doing the heads and cam. I havent read it yet just glanced through it. Its a very technical article cant wait till its all done and see what kind of power it makes.

Car: 91 GTA, 91 Formula, 89 TTA
Engine: all 225+ RWHP
Transmission: all OD
Axle/Gears: Always the good ones
I'm curious to see how well it does.
I bet it suprises the hell out of everyone in the end.
There is a huge difference from the level and $$$$ we consider rebuilding here, compared to what runnin the same engine, say a TPI 305 in Stock Eliminator does. There was one there running 11's.
Everything is squared 90 degree from the crank, etc etc, lifter bores are centered on cam and bushed yadda yadda. That stuff ends up costing a fortune if you do it all. It will last a lot longer and make a noticeable amount in power over not doing it too.
Im interested to see the difference in the completed motor vs. when they tear it down and do coatings on the same engine and retest it.
should be good to see.
