kids car, running but, need some help.

Hello all, its been a while but we have the car running with the new 350.
Its got some serious horse power. was a 305 now a 350 .060 over.
hot cam, all roller, ported heads, Holley AFPR to 50 lbs, with 305 injectors

1.
Is there a difference in the knock sensor from a 305 to a 350 ???
2.
for some reason I can't get the fuel reg past about 50 psi, its maxed out. (Holley)
3.
One fan comes on at about 230 deg, to hot???? new thermostat
is a 220 deg. seems to high? what do you think?
other fan also comes on but later.
car seems to run around 220 or so deg.

4.
I buy passed the coolant to the throttle body and keep blowing the hose of the coolant vacuum valve that the heater hoses go into.
Its that plastic thing with the vacuum line on top.
Can I take this off? how do I route the hoses after I do?

5.
Got a few other problems like idle surging, when I un plug IAC it doesn't do it. Bad IAC ???? did clean it but didn't help.

6.
get a code 12 some times, o2 sensor?

all air smog stuff is gone.
thanks
Scott an son.

1. Yes, they are not interchangeable.

2. an old tired stock pump?

3. Primary fan is controlled by ecm, on at 230, this is normal. should be a 195 thermostat.

4. Find out why you are getting so much pressure in the cooling system. This is not normal. To bypass, hook the hose that used to come out of the Throttle body, to the hose going to the heater core, plug the third hose on the valve.

5. Maybe a vacuum leak?

6. Code 12 is the computer is saying it is ok. If you are not getting other codes, then the stuff the computer pays attention to is "normal" as far as the computer is concerned.

hoses

Thanks I need the help.

1. Can I eliminate the valve all together?
both heater core hoses run into it, then there is a t fitting that goes to the top of radiator.

2. Id like to get rid of the plastic vacuum valve housing all together.
how do I do that?
(When I clamped the tpi bypass hose to the plastic fitting I cracked it so it slips off if you bump the valve.
there isn't much there to clamp on any more.)

3. When I unhook my IAC the idle stops surging.
does this mean its bad? I did clean it but it wasn't that bad.
I did not take it apart, maybe I should do that?.
the car sat for 3 years apart before we got it.

4. Iam using the 305 knock sensor, is that bad? the computer is also for a stock 305 tpi.
what kind of things will the current 350 engine do, running the 305 knock sensor?

5.Iam using all the 305 sensors in the 350, what ones do I need to change?

6. Shoot I made a mistake on the 12 code. It was 13 I looked it up and it said o2 sensor.
what do you think?

thanks

1. the 305 injectors are too small...
2. if your running a 305 chip you'll want to install a 350 chip...

if not the injectors, deff. get a 350 chip...

You need to change the knock sensor, ESC module, prom, and those injectors. At 50 psi, your injectors will flow 20.37 lbs per hour. Thats still pretty far off from 22 lbs. You can keep the injectors if you change the injector size in the prom from 19 to 22 lbs. Once you replace the injectors, or get correct the prom issue, set your fuel pressure back to 43.5 psi. You will still need to change the knock sensor, and ESC regardless.

Try setting your minimum air and TPS, and making sure you are at 6 degrees base timing.

Code 13 means that the ECM is not getting a signal from the O2 sensor (going from memory, I might be wrong). Check to see its hooked up to the harness, and the wire isn't damaged.

So you don't think the IAC is bad? when I unplug, it stops surging at idle.

Oh, whats the ESC module???

thanks

What is the best way to tell which is a 5.7 EST module, and which is a 5.0 / 4.3?

I've got half a dozen of the things, but have no idea which is for what displacement.

I don't understand why it does matter. Should be v6 or v8.

Ah, so the difference is not between displacement, but rather through how many cylinders the vehicle has?
