350 TPI Spark plug change

Ok, I did a search but wasn't very successful in finding an answer. I have to change my plugs in my 350TPI motor. I did this along time ago and man, a couple of them were a PAIN. How do the rest of you change the plugs on these motors? From up top, or underneath? Also, what is ths gap on the plugs?

Oh, I got the car running, it was not my fuel pump, but the fuel regulator like several of you suggested. THANKS!!!

Combination of both. With the factory exhaust manifolds, some are easier from underneath.

It can really be a pain if your not used to doing it. Don't get frustrated just because some people can do it in no time flat. The first time I did it, it bout took me all day Now I can do the whole thing in about 20 or 30 mins like SlowIroc said.

I don't remember exactly which plugs I did from where (now I have headers and it's easier) but get the front end as high as you can to make it easier on yourself. ...and make sure your car isn't hot!! I wish I could be more help but it's been years since I did it on a stock engine!

yup the first time i did it it took me 3:00 hours. ever time i change them it is faster and faster. I have headers so i us an open end wrench and a spark plug socket. that is all. and yes every time i do it my hand take a beating.

Same deal here with headers. Easiest way i have found is drivers side from the top. Passanger side from the bottom. And like formula fever said, use an open end wrench and a spark plug socket, but i usually only need that on the passangers side.

Thank you everyone for the replies. Big help. If I attack the passenger side from the bottom, do I need to remove the plastic guard behind the tire? Or can I drive it up on stands and get to them that way. Trying to avoid wasting time getting this done.

Thanks again!

ramps, stands. Disconnect the battery. Depending on your starter, you may or may not have to move it. The issue from removing it from the top is the smog pump relays, diverter valve, etc. AIR tubes can be an annoyance too. You can remove the diverter valve and try and get it from the top, as an alternative.

The driver side I do all of them from the top. On the passenger side the front two from the top, and the back two from underneath. Jack up the car for these two and slide yourself under behind the back tire and you will be able to reach them really easily.

you got the same car as me... well year anyway

cylinders #1 and 3 do from the top. The cylinders 5,7,6,8 spark plugs are visible under the car. The passenger side front two, ie cylinders 2 and 4 are a pita. I believe I did them from up top. though you can get to the #2 and 4 from the bottom, but its a pain in the ***. All can be done from under the car, but some are easier up top.
