Why disconnect cold start injector?
I've recently bought a -88 IROC with 350 TPI and today I discovered that the electrical connector for the cold start injector is disconnected.
What would be the reasons for someone to do this?
The car starts fine when it's freezing cold out, but needs to crank for up to 5-7 seconds when the engine is warm...
Thanx,
Martin

It might not have been disconnected intentionally. The connector has a retainer clip to keep it from coming out by itself because of vibration. Also, if you don't have a modified PROM with a CSI disabled then plug it back in and see what it does. It wont hurt unless the circuit had a fault and was causing the injector to stay energized.

And in case you can't get it running for whatever reason, I found that cranking the engine for a split second first thing in the morning (after the pump pressurizes the system of course) then "normally" starting it results in much faster starts.
To actually fix this, I'm going to burn a PROM for myself that doesn't utilize cold start.
