How far can a stock ECM go?

How much HP can it deal with? When does the MAF give out? Just wondering how long it will be before I have to add a stand alone system.

MAF is over and done with after you peg it at the 255g/sec limit and your PE fuel can no longer keep up.

Thats plenty of room for growth.

Even better, is swapping to a SD setup which basically has no limits outside of the injectors sizes you can safely run. High impedance only, but there are 90#'s available now. 8*90# should give you plenty of room on about any combo that would be considered streetable.

See the DIY-PROM board for more info on limitiations and benefits of the systems. Several code pathces available for things like this as well.

Thanks, I'm looking into the programming info. Can I delete the MAF by programming the memcal alone?

Just to give you an idea of what *can* happen with a MAF setup, my mismatched high revving (but SLOW) 327 is maxing out the MAF above 5500 rpms, and I'm shifting over 6000. I'm only running mid 14s with this car. There are MAF cars in the 12s and 13s that don't seem to have any problems overcoming the MAF system's shortcomings, though. I need to get this thing figured out!
