HELP!! TPI Problems Maybe EGR?
I just picked up an 87 Trans Am and noticed that anything under a quarter throttle the car kind of bogs and stumbles a little bit it also stalls out once and a while usually when i'm backing up or driving around 5 miles an hour. Anything over a quarter throttle the car drives fine. I hear that this can be caused by a bad egr valve is there any way to test it it seems fine. Also when i'm driving and I let off of the gas the car kind of surges a little bit. Anyone know what could be causing this? Thanks - Justin

HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM
i'll save you the time from searching though most people won't stop to help only say go search. It can be that the iac, tps, cts, a leaky cooling system, vacuum leak, knock sensor however slight engine noises can throw a knock sensor off like a lose rocker, the list just goes on. unfortunately as the same problem for many different people each little thing seems to help as little i had a manifold leak and that make it ru n better but not perfect still stalls. I just got my car i dont know if you did but check the plugs are in tight mine were lose on a few of them if this helps good it could very well be the egr i havent messed with mine cause i dont want a big project right now. Check the fuel pressure as well autozone has the guage.
