100 map and only 2.88 volt TPS?

As the topic say. When I got TPS at 2.88 volt, I get 100Kpa? TPS is 0.57volt with TB closed, and 4.2 when WOT.
This with the car on flat road, no hills.
I looked for vacume leaks but havent found any.
My idle Kpa is 57.

Any tips what to look for?

MAF or MAP System?

Bad TPS? Bad MAP Sensor? Engine Is Not Running?

Can you check and see if you have 5 volts on one of the 'outside' terminals of your TPS?

Other 'outside' terminal should be ground.

The center terminal is the one that provides the actual voltage for the ECM to determine the 'throttle angle'.

Here's a crude schematic of the TPS Circuit:

ECM_______________________________________TPS

| ------------- 5 Volt Reference From ECM --------|
|
| --------------TPS Sensor Voltage To ECM-------|
|
| --------------Ground---------------------------|

If you are getting +4.2 volts TPS VOLTAGE at WOT, I think your TPS is ok.

A large vacumn leak combined with 50% throttle opening could result in 100Kpa.

You might try and reference the IAC the see where it is at idle to determine if there is a gross vacumn leak somewhere.

Hope this helps.

MAP is a result of throttle angle, throttle size, absolute VE, and engine RPM. At low RPMs, full MAP can be seen at less than full throttle, simply because the total airflow (proportional to horsepower or VE*RPM) at low RPMs is not enough to cause a signifigant pressure drop when flowing across a partially open throttle. At high airflow (high RPMs and absolute VE) even a WOT throttle will cause a pressure drop.

From your description so far, it's hard to tell if there is any problem at all. If you're seeing 100kPa at 2.88v TPS and 5000 RPM, I'd wonder about things, but if this is at 1200 RPM or just as the throttle is opening quickly, then no problem.

Ahh thanks. It makes cense then cause Its not at high RPM I se this, but most under 2000rpm.

cheers
