Any real difference in HP?
Hey guys,
How much of a difference in horsepower do you think there would be between a cam with .495 lift both Int. and Exh. with 218 to 228 duration @ 50 compared to a .480 lift both Int. and Exh. with 210 to 220 duration @ 50? Both hyd. roller Tpi 350's with the same Mods other than Cam?
Thanks,

If the first is a hot cam you will see about 2 degrees less duration on each side running 1.5 rockers (guessing that is what your are reffering to since those lift specs match the hot came with 1.5 rockers and the duration is with 1.6 rockers). I ran my 350 with stock tpi and hot cam with 1.5 rockers and it was great up to about 4500 rpms (big suprise!). If you have plans for a better intake (porting or diff intake) get the hot cam, I had a LT1 intake on it first and it pulled to 6000, then the TPI and now a HSR which pulls to 6000 with a little more low end then the LT1 but less than the TPI.
Comparing the 2 cams you will see more hp with the first and more torq with the second.

I have that Comp .480/.480 210/220 @ 050 with 112LSA cam in my car.
I didn't go with the ".495" one because i have stock heads..
If the heads/TPI setup are mostly stock then I would go with the cam I have
