300 crank hp?
Can a dual cat TPI 350 make 300 hp at the crank with out porting the heads or putting in a cam? Is 300 hp possible with only bolt ons?

I think you definately would have to do some porting and add a cam, and some intake and exhaust upgrades. These engines were designed rather well, and its not easy to pick up a lot of power with one or two upgrades. When modding these engines, your going for torque. Id have to say it will come real close on the H.P. though. But will not exceed it without extra mods. Headers and intake improvements, (bolt-ons) might bring it around 300.

I agree with Brutal. I believe a L98 can get very close to the 300hp mark with only bolt ons, but it won't excede 300 by much without cam, intake and headwork. Torque on the other hand......

Going by some of the times I have seen posted I would say yes. I recently saw a post of someone in the lower 13's with stock heads and cam. Some call them "factory freaks". Allen

I actully believe i am close to that mark. I haven't gotten it dynoed yet and don't want to brag until i can prove it.

Im not sure I have an 87 Corvette with TPIS ZZ9 cam, TPIS Big Mouth base intake, AS&M semi-siamised runners, 113 D-port heads with cleaned up runners, ported plenum, and true dual exhaust with no cats and on the chassis dyno assuming 20% loss for 700R4 I have 305 horsepower torque should be a little over 400 at the crank. I was hoping for more but cant complain as the exhaust and custom chip netted me aprox 30 horsepower at the wheels.
Now I just have to get a set of long tube headers and see where that puts me.

Hey, I lighly ported/polished my heads, had headers, small (210/220)cam, and headers and put down 241 rwhp; which is equal to a little more than 300hp at the crank. It was untuned at the time too.
