I'm doing this right now. Watch the board classifieds and ebay and you should be able to pick up a complete TPI (Intake/runners/plenum/inj/fuel rails/fpr/etc...) for around $300.00. Might be able to get cheaper if you watch.
Your going to need a high pressure fuel pump (Search ebay Walbro 255 if you have any ambitious plans). Otherwise, just buy a stock pump from your local parts store.
Need to devise some sort of Air intake (I'm going factory TPI for camaros, pretty cheap and better then just a cone on the throttle body).
Then you'll need to get a computer (7730) I paid $29 bucks on ebay so they're not that expensive. Get the right prom from GM. www.gmpartsdirect.com has good prices (part numbers you can find here on the website).
Then read this because you have to repin your harness:
https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=216453
Then there is a technical article here that also has some information.
I'm in the process of doing this so if you need any help PM me at anytime.

hmmm...sounds like a good project, i kinda want to do something that is a bit more difficult than just headers and exhaust, so i might do it. Does anyone know what kind of horsepower gains i can expect? Does TBI require as much maintenance as a carb does?

I read a post on here before(can't find it though) but some kids father dyno'd his before and after a tbi to tpi swap with a 305 and came up with some where between 20 to 25 more hp and some where between 55 to 65 lbs of torque can't remember the exact numbers.

Yes. I have a TBI harness you can repin and a painless, your choice. I got the painless harness before I knew you could repin. My 730 ecu is not for sale. Ebay has them all day for cheap. I also have an two plenums, one is off an 85 TPI and one off a 91. Both are clean. I don't want this to turn to a classified add so you will have to email for more info.

I recently did this. I used the S&P tbi to tpi integrator harness. check my cardomain page at the bottom to see pics. it was not a ton of work. would be a little tricker if you are going to repin the harness. check out speartech they have kits for conversions.
