1LE belt problem??
Today i went outside to fire up the iroc and all of a sudden when I fire it up the belt started making a squealing noise and the a/c pulley sounded like it was grinding. So i took the belt off and tried to turn the a/c pulley with my hand and it is stuck it won't turn at all it is so bad to the point now that when i start my car the belt will start to smoke on the a/c because of all of the friction there i was thinking about taking out the a/c and put the a/c delete pully on but I want to keep my a/c has this happened to anyone other than me because i have never heard of a problem like this????

There are always guys selling the 1LE AC delete pulley on ebay or look for a 1990 GM pick up in the scrap that has a v8 without AC and you will find one there.

The compressors will sieze up over time sometimes, depending on use, etc.
Since you said you want to keep your A/C, I have one out of my '88 that should be the same that you can have, but I can't guarantee it works. I got my car and it didn't hold much of a charge (had very little when I bought car) and I proceeded to rip the A/C out and never bothered troubleshooting it. I doubt its the compressor, but you never know.
If you're interested, shoot me a PM..
