fuel pump setup

I'm planning out my tpi install for the end of this year but am still working out some of the bugs. Other than dropping the tank, is it possible to just mount an inline fuel pump along with the VIN E TBI 15LBS fuel pump still in operation . Kind of like some of the Mustangs where they have a pick-up pump @ 3-5 LBS and an inline @ 40LBS. Or how about this...

If I drop the tank, is there room to install a new factory tank with the addition of a rear facing fuel sump or a fuel cell with sump, baffles, and rear facing outlets? Anyone try or look into this yet?

I'd recommend droping the tank and pulling out the TBI pump.
You can sump the stock tank if you like, my friend did this and then ran an Aeromotive A1000 inline pump.
Another option is to replace the intank pump with an intank Walbro 255lp/h pump.

When I did my carb to TPI swap, I left the carb sender alone in the tank and just installed an inline Holley Fuel pump,

Thanx Zepher... I will drop the tank and just keep it simple and put in an in-tank pump or who knows maybe I will then decide to put in a sump with baffles. Then my car will stop hesitating and starving when I take those hard turns. Thats actually my problem that I would like to get rid of. The factory tank setup just does not like gravity going in other directions except down.

The easiest solution is to keep the tank at least 1/2 way full.

It always worked for me. Besides it was always fun to tell people that you had to fill up and take a hard right turn, then watch the gas gauge got to full........and slowly back down. Left turn and it suddenly disappears???? Where did it go..... Wait, there it is!
