camshaft
I saw a guy change the camshaft on a early 80's Chevrolet back when they were having camshaft going flat. He didnt pull the intake but he did pull the oil pan. He pulled the pan timing chain cover and valve covers. pulled the pushrods, and came from under the car and pushed the lifters up a bit so the cam would clear removed the camshaft and went back up top and pushed all the lifters down and out.. Took some grease and a magnic and put the new lifters in from the bottem and put the cam back all the covers. He worked at a dealership and said it was faster then removing all the vacuum lines and junk off the intake..

I guess I pressed the wrong button and posted a new subject.. I was posting to a post about pulling the intake to replace a camshaft..
It was something to see him change a camshaft that way.. but it worked.. and back in the day 80's there was a bunch of stuff on the top of the engines..
