90 knock sensor
I've been lurking around and have learned a lot from you guys after being recommended before swapping in a 90 tpi 350 into my jeep. Everything has gone great except that I just installed my shorty headers only to find out they hit my knock sensor. My understanding is that the knock sensors tell the timing when to advance and retard, but my question is, is there any way of eliminating it? Can I not run the knock sensor? If so, do I just not plug it in (I'm assuming my SES light will remain on)? or do I plug one in and not insert it into the motor. Sorry if this is a stupid question, I searched and couldn't quite find anything. Thanks guys, I appreciate all the help.

Do you post on southerneeps.org? Your username looks familiar.
You can bypass the knock sensor by soldering a resistor in the wire, but I can't remember what value you'll need. Do a search on knock sensor and resistor and you'll find it. I'm too lazy to do it for you.
I have a spare 350 sitting here in the garage and have thought about doing this swap in my YJ too, but the added cost of replacing the entire drivetrain is killing that idea.
