odd problems... HELP!!

well i hope you can help, or me, my camaro, a gas can and a lighter have an appointment in a field.

i have a list of problems that intermittantly spring up together, so i believe they might be related.

1. car will just stop running at a red light (305 tpi auto). no sputtering, no warning, just stops dead. turn key and it fires right up like nothing happened.

2. cruize control will usually work fine, but on occasion it will have trouble accelerating. it will just stop pulling, and when i tap the gas it begins functioning like nothing was wrong.

3. at times, the car will have a hesitation when the accelerator is first pushed... after a brief hesitation it will begin to pull strong, but if gas is let off (when coasting) and the rpm gets under 2000 it will hesitate again when the accelerator is pushed down.

4. at times the throttle will stick at around 1500... but when car is off and i work the throttle to check the cable and stuff it works smoothly with no katches or binds. i can just let the car accelerate it self.. kinda weird. at times very inconvenient when car is pulling hard and i am trying to break for a redlight. will unstick when i rev it up a bit.

i hope you all can help me, i am finding nothing wrong that is obvious, and don't have the money or trust to drag it to a garage.. thank you all very much.

All these problems point to the throttle body area.
1. Check all mechanics - cables, connections, etc.
2. Check Throttle position sensor (TPS). And not just the closed and wide open redings. TPS has a potentiometer inside that provides a signal changing from 0.5V to 4.6V. If the potentiometer is worn out somwhere in the middle it can develop "dead zones" and the voltage will not reflect the throttle position. As a result the ECM might think that the engine needs more gas. As a result it might feel like the throtle stuck. Or it might think that it needs less gas and it will feel like stalling.

go to a local auto parts store. Buy you a computer code reader.Bought mine at O'reilleys for $30. That will tell you what codes your car is throwing. It's the best $$ I've ever spent on mine. It should help eliminate some probs .

that would be the confusing part. it isn't throwing any codes.

i will check the throttle body out and see how that helps. i will also replace the tps and see what happens
