Stock MAF L98 was loping yesterday.
I started my car and my SES light came on and my car was loping and couldn't hold a steady idle. RPM's went really low, fluctuating between 400-600rpm. (holding 600-750rpm is normal on my motor)
I had to put a new MAF connection on my harness because the old wires/MAF connector was trashed. I also have a new MAF sensor too.
I twisted the wires together really good and then used heat shrink wrap to seal them. The new connection/wires were not the same guage as the old wires, the new wires were smaller.
I turned the car off and wiggled the wires a little and restarted it. Same thing. After a few times of killing the car and wiggling the wires my car finally started and idled fine.
Any suggestions?

where is a good place to get a MAF sensor? I found one a Advanced Auto Parts made by Micro Tech that comes with a lifetime warranty for $170.00?
Is there a better one somewhere else (or a better brand for about the same price)?

From "TPI Swapper's guide":
"Code 34 indicates: ECM has seen low air flow for less than 2.5 grams per second (low voltage) for one second when:
Engine is first started
OR
RPM is above 600. TPS is above 6%. To obtain 6%, the engine has to be running at about 2300 rpm in neutral."
How to test it:
"1. A code 34 may be caused by an engine that exhibits a low, rough, unstable or incorrect idle problem. If this condition exists, disconnect the MAF sensor. If the unstable idle still exists, the problem is somewhere else. If the idle improved with the sensor disconnected, replace it.
2. With the MAF sensor disconnected, the ECM should see a high signal voltage and set a code 33. If a code 34 resets then the wiring or the ECM is at fault."
