MSD. Digital vs Analog

I am thinking about installing an MSD box on my TPI motor. I am wondering first if it is worth the time and effort. Will there be a difference. I have been told that I won't and that MSD can cause ghosts in your machine and throw trouble codes for no reason sometime.

Is it worth it?

Also I have access to the MSD 6 Offroad box and also a MSD digital 6 plus box. If I do use MSD which one should I use and why? I know the digital has the rev limiters but what else should I know.

I have done a search and found some answers and conflicting opinions.

My application a '85 GMC Jimmy 4x4 that I swapped TPI onto. It is used for offroading. Mostly slow speed crawling and rarely see the high side of 3500-4000 RPM.

Thanks
Harley

I put a MSD6AL on my 88 Iroc and have been running it for the past few years as a daily driver and never had a problem. I have not had any of the engine codes you speak of (running a stock ECM with a hypertech chip).. I am very happy with the MSD6AL and would buy another one...
