What's better?

They're both good, or they both suck, depending on your perspective.
The right question is "which one is better for ____________"
(insert what you want to accomplish in the blank.)

Ahh! touche!
Ok...has power off the line and top end power. I was roughly 350 - 400+ HP and around the same torque if more. What would be my choice in these matters? Or am I better off to use a carb?

tbi = crap
tpi = lots of low end torque... you'll fall on your face at around 5k, though
hsr = good top end (6k), good low end (not as much low end torque as tpi though), and is cheap
lt1 intake = good low end, good top end, but hsr has better top end and is also pretty cheap
mr = just as good as the hsr from 1k-6k, but pulls up to 7k+ and pulls more top end power than the hsr... but cost about $1,300
honestly? the cheaper one to get would be the lt1 intake or the hsr. the hsr would pull more hp top end than the lt1 intake would... it has a little bit less torque than the lt1 intake, but with a TC with a good stall, you'd be crazy to pass up the hsr. i wouldnt want to rev my engine past 6k though, too much to risk with a good chance of messing up your valvetrain.
you'd also want to get some good flowing heads and a big enough cam to go with the intake so you can pull as much power as you can. stock heads are pretty restrictive, and the stock cam is pretty small. get some ported aluminum heads that have good flow, and get yourself a comp cams 08-503-8 cam if you decided to go with the hsr or tpi w/ ported runners, base and plenum. it's just cheaper to get the hsr though.
hope i helped somewhat
