Wouldnt an Edelbock performer intake be cheaper and flow better?

I'd melt it down and recycle it. Someone on SE3GO posted this topic too. Blew my mind.

That's hilarious. I Bet there's a nice tasteful hole in the hood to go with it too!

I wonder how well it runs...

OK I just checked out the pics on Ebay and it's entitled RARE SBC INTAKE Does that say it or what?

I cant imagine it would run too well. I can just hear the guys mental process:

"Tuned ports make a lot of low-mid power, carbs make good top-end, hey! If I can put both on at the same time, I'm golden!"

doh

I am still confused... does the carb function as a carb or a throttlebody? What did he do with the injectors? No... this is certainly wrong.

Ok, this is thirdgen's brother...... I just had to chime in on this

What makes this completely priceless is that some moron put in a lot of time to make that work, even better then that is the fact that he really thought this was the most brilliant idea in the world. YES!!!!!!!!!!

The moral of this story is.......... inbreeding is bad

Yeah, the injector openings have been filled with epoxy to seal 'em up. It's just an intake manifold now, and I'll even go out on a limb here and say it probably worked okay too.

Somebody went to a lot of trouble cutting & welding a carb spacer on etc. There's some ingenuity to it, you gotta admit. It just sits too tall for my liking.

You guys have not seen anything. When I was in High School .... the Tri Fives ruled the High School Parking Lot, much as our beloved Third Gens do today. Anyway I remember one real "Rocket Scientist" heard that 57 Chevys came with "Fuel Injection". So he comes home from school, yanks the two barrel, bends the fuel line down and over the open holes in the intake, slams the hood, hops behind the wheel, hits the starter.....and nothing happens. So he goes in the house, gets a coke and sits down to watch.TV.His first clue was the sound of the Fire Trucks speeding down the street.Needless to say this beautiful 57 convertible burned to the ground. The car was in like new condition with less than 5000 miles on the clock. Oh well nobodys perfect ....

Maybe he's going for the high-rise intake?

What kills me is that he could have bought a good Carb manifold for the money he would have got selling the TPI setup. I hope nobody is dumb enough to actually bid on that.

I just feel bad for the car. It makes me sad that people like that are allowed to by F-Bodies.
I'm also very angry. I bet that A-Hole pays less for insurance than I do.

I guess he wanted a tunnel ram, but decided that this was a better(?) solution that buying something that would actually work correctly.

yes Im bidding on it. Kinda as a joke with a buddy here. I plan to ceramic coat it and give it to a buddy who wants to convert to a carb on his Iroc.

We will not use it. again AS A JOKE. deff a pos and Ive e-mailed the guy telling him why and how its a bad idea to run it. and he insists it ran great on his buddies truck.

since then it looks like he has had a few of his buddies register and place bids in the last few hrs. Tons of people with 0 feed back. and a few with some.

Whats funny was in the e-mail I offered to powdercoat a complete setup for his buddy and His buddy said No let it sell for what ever. He just missed out on at least $150bucks in free coating work. I deff dont see that thing selling that High.
