TPI setup
This might be somewhere else on the board but i did a shearch and didnt anything. What is your setup wiht a 350 tpi. And what do you run. Alot of sigs show everything like that but i think that would be cool to have a post that has everything about it and input about how to do your tpi right.

I'm looking for the same thing... there is not much infor on a carb to TPI swap. I'd like to write one, and I'd like to think I'm off to a decent start on it.
Here's what I have:
350 .020 over
Comp Cams High Energy 252H w/1.6 rockers
041 heads with 1.94/1.5 valves
I have a modified base manifold, stock runners and upper intake, and stock 305 injectors. Still need a throttle body, wire harness and fuel pump.
Objective:
Torquey motor with 20mpg+ potential
I am considering making a Speed Desnity system. I have the 730 ecm, but not sure what to do with it... I heard I need a calpack for a 92 5.7L from the dealer... Is there a part# for it? I also need a Prom as well.
ISSUES:
I think a MAF harness can be converted to a SD one..can it?
I'd rather not drop my gas tank, is there an external fuel pump that will work?
What else do I need to know? Car's details are in the sig.

the stock tpi setup (but with SLP runners...) removed 70 horsepower from a 420 horsepower motor (now 350) , but added 50 ft. lbs. of torque all the way from 2000 rpms to 4500 rpms to that same motor. I imagine some stock runner would ruin the horsepower figure even more and probably torque numbers as well.
Figure no one on this board with TPI is making more than 350 RWHP. A couple people are trying, though. 1BAD91Z is going to give it a go with some extrude honed runners... Although thats not stock TPI anymore he is still trying to push the LTR setup as far as it will go, impressive but pointless in my opinion. then again he has vortec heads so maybe he thinks thats his cheapest option...

realistically, unless you're running an LT-1 or LS-1, in minimally modded form, 350 rear wheel horses aren't going to happen in the first place.
I'm just feeling out what a mild 350 would do on fuel injection. I like the effiency and big torque the system puts out. With an automatic tranny and big diffy gears, the drivetrain loss is substantial to begin with.
I drive my car daily, and occasionally from light to light or at the local 1/4 mile. Realistically, I think 400 ft lb of torque to the rear wheels is darn close to the threshold of most any minimally modded rear suspension, not to mention street tires. The 20+MPG on that kind of torque is even nicer. Sure, most cars will probably get me by the end of the 1/4, but when I step, she'll go on a stock stall convertor and my anemic 3.42 GM 10 bolt.

im performing the carb to TPI swap aswell, i have everything to do it, i just want to make sure i can hook the wires into the fuse box(already is labeled for Inj1,inj2,ect) but what do i do exactly, like what kind of wire ends do i need to put them into the fuse box and do i need 2 sets of wires? one into the same fuse and one out, iv got the IP connector harness and ALDL aswell with the setup. its off of an 87iroc, but i have a converted LT1 intake and remote thermostat for it. i can do everything else the only thing im worried about is wiring these wires into the fuse box. iv researched alot about swaping carb-tpi so maybe i can help you if you PM me or what not. or maybe we can keep this post going. i started out with a LG4 5-speed, now i have my 406 in. i already have a low duration cam for the LT1 setup. i just want to make sure i can do this before i take all the wiring out. john M(LT1intake.com) did my prom for me for all my specific settings. he's a great guy!
