pre-vortec 350 HO,300hp.What torque with TPI?
I posted this question a while back on the engine-swap board, but I want to know what the TPI board guys think.I have the 300hp,iron headed 350 HO http://www.sallee-chevrolet.com/Che...ockV8s/300.html ,and I'm wondering what the TPI will do to the torque output. The engine is rated at 369 lbs. with a carb.I know the HP will drop, but would the torque increase?

Since it is rated with a carb then a stock TPI setup will increase torque numbers and throttle response down in lower RPMs... but the engine won't see the powerband a carb offers. If you are going to put a TPI setup on it then you should really do what you can to free up CFMs before you put it on. Port port port.
