Where to mount coil with Vortec TPI??
Just wondering where you guys with a Vortec head / TPI decided to mount the ignition coil? I'm have some trouble finding a suitable place to mount the coil. My issue is further complicated by the car being converted to right hand drive. Any suggestions welcome!
Heres some pics of my current progress with the Vortec TPI conversion.

I dunno if you can still get to it, but I'm making a bracket that bolts to the back of the cylinder head, straight up(also to use as a lifting lug), with a right agle bracket that the coils mounts to, bolted to that. A peice of steel, 1/4" thick, about 6 inches long, 2 inches wide....puts the coil in almost the same place as stock, just above the two corner intake bolts.
Hope that helps.

I mounted mine in the factory location. I took the original bracket and welded a thin plate to the bottom, reshaped the angle of the bracket to a 90* angle and drill 2 holes on the new plate that I welded on. Now, it bolts right up to the passenger side back 2 intake bolts (Looks factory !!! ).

I made mine very simply.... Take the original bracket that has a 120* angle (approx) on the bottom and make it into about a 60* angle.. So you end up with a sort of "S" shaped bracket... Use your tool of choice to widen the bolt holes on the bracket or just use one bolt to hold it.. Then put a stud or studs on the pass rear cylinder head for the intake manifold and attach it in the factory location that way... Works great!!

I figured out a place to put it, looks good too. I had some issues with the conversion to right hand drive that prevented me from mounting it on the back of the cylinder head. I'll post some pics tomorrow in this thread.
WHat about the EGR solenoid, where did you guys mount that??
