what to do about alternator brackets when installing a TPI on a carb'd motor
i am going to install an 86 TPI (converted to MAP) on my formerly carb'd 350. The problem i have run into is the stock alternator bracket will not work with the TPI manifold. the stock alternator bracket that is on the passenger side bolts to the water pump and the termostat housing on the carb manifold. i have though about modifing the stock bracket to make it workbut i'm not sure if i will have any clearance issues with the throttle body.
Do you fellas have and ideas or know of any aftermarket brackets that will keep my alternator on the passenger side?

Have you tried a salvage yard for a wrecked car that may have what you need?

Hit the junk yards f0r a set of alum brackets that will bolt to the front of your engine PS,AC ALT,smog it all bolts up and should be able to get it pretty cheap gave 20 bucks for mine works great and changed over to serpentine belt hope this helps.Mine is off 90rs.

Just pick up the TPI bracket for the V-belt setup. The lower bolts attach to the waterpump and head like your current setup does, but the uppermost bracket bolt attaches to the front runner bolt on the passenger side.
