I was leaning more towards the hotcam so thats good to hear. I have heard lots of postive comments about how streetable the hotcam is. This motor has not even come to be yet im just researching trying to put together a low 13 to high 12 street car that gets decent milage.

You don't have enough head or converter to use that XR288.

Yeah, the hot cam would be better for your setup as is on the street, but I say "**** on the hot cam". I don't like the amount of overlap it had in my old setup and it wasn't aggressive enough for the gas mileage it gave me in my old Spram setup with ported zz4 heads. I'd go with Comp, but go with a custom grind. I think the 224/230 XE would be perfect for your heads, but get get it ground on a 112 LS with a 108 or probably better yet for the StRam get 110 LCA, IOW 2-4* advance. This cam will idle better, run better +30hp over the GM cam, and will give the same gas mileage. If you do any port work to the heads then I'd say go for the 288 cam. Heck you could try it too. I know those heads flow, but the 288 might be just a tad bit too much for your intake runner size. A lot of people think that 236/242 at .050 is too big for computer cars on the street. It just depends on you cubes, intake, and heads. I think the 288 cam is a weenie in my setup. If you run the big comp cam (288) you'll for sure need about a 3200-4k stall, but you'd really be happy this way. This cam should put you at 60-70 more hp than the hot cam, you just have to have the high stall to get the car out of the hole, or you' may end up being slower. Either way, the big cam in your combo will crush the exact combo with the hotcam on the highway. Where do you plan on doing most of play'n?

This car is going to be driven daily to and from work in traffic but I want it to be a strong performer for the drag strip definatily low 13's. I don't really want to have anymore converter than 2400.

Im trying to select parts that give a nice strong torque curve for street driving but dont give up anything on the top end and Im wondering if maybe the superram would be better than stealth ram? I originaly picked the stealth ram beacuse of its price, ease of install, and abilility to support future upgrades.

If all you want is low 13's then you could get by with a zz4 cam. It would get you a little better mileage. I think your underestimating what your heads and intake can do if you're only expecting or wanting low 13's. Go with the hot cam, or better yet the cam that 1bad91Z run's, which is a littler hotter than the hot cam. This is the cam I described earlier, the 224/230 XE. It will give you what you're looking for and should be good for low 12's with your setup. You will at least be in the mid 12's with this cam and your setup, when you tune out all of the gremlins and get it to hook decent. You could even see 11's with slicks and more convertor.
