383 owners....please help!
I'm going with a 383 and was wondering what stroker kits you guys are using and what 1/4 mile times you are getting. Also, did you have to get your prom burned to accept the change from the 350 to the 383. I have a chip burned to accept my cam and heads and TPIS intake. Would I have to get that reburned for the 383? Any help, comments, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I bought my 383 kit through my machinist. We sat down and put together some good parts from good manufacturers. Then we got a great price from a local racing parts warehouse. 383 stroker kits are so popular you can get one just about anywhere for a good price. Thats why I had to be different and went with 385!
I switched to the stroker from a 305 and eliminated EGR and all that stuff. So a new chip was definately part of my package. I don't know if you would NEED a new one, but it is sure going to help.
As of yet, I have no track times, but I had a few good kills on the street...

Regarding your chip, you can adjust cylinder volume under the constant paramaters using tunercat software, which would take into account your extra cubic inches. That should pretty much do it, at least for initial start up, then you can begin the task of tuning........
But, I do remember when I first built my 383, I used the stock chip for initial start up. However, performance wasn't there.......then I decided to start burning my own proms.
