What to do with stock L98???
I have my 91 Z28 L98 in the shop being rebuilt right now....was "going" to be a mini-rammed blown 377ci....but got have a new baby on the way and cant afford to go all out now. The car will still be my daily driver, and since its already apart....I figured Id do something a little better than stock...so tell me what you think.
350block bored .030
LT1 rods
Flat-top pistons(Keith Black HYP)
stock crank ground and polished
Still not sure about a cam though....Im going to have to use the stock TPI parts(minus runners from SLP). I have already ported the base and plenum extensively. I was thinking about going with the ZZ4 cam or something else relatively cheap....any suggestions??? I dont want something TOO big, just a nice daily driver sound. I am also not sure about what heads to go with....should I have the stock heads ported??? or maybe some Sportsman II's or Dart Iron Eagle? Please help.....need to get my car running again....thanks in advance

go with the ZZ9 cam from TPIS. it's alittle hefty on the price at 375 but well worth it for mild applications.
also try and find a set of 88-92 vette heads and have them reworked ported and punched. you can probably get the heads for around 500 maybe cheaper. they will flow real good and with that setup you got should put you deep in the 12's with a good gear and more stall.
good luck!

Or buy a cam with the same specs from another company for less $$$$$

Yea.... you were doing well with ur own suggestion of the ZZ4 cam. Very cheap, and a great daily driver performer. The ZZ9 cam is only marginally better for more than double the price, so I wouldn't even consider it.
