Hey guys, I'm not new to the 3rd gen Fbody scene, having owned 4 myself. However, when I did own them my money was spent on keeping them together, combined with minimum wage earnings as a kid didn't help either.

My favorite was my 85 350TPI. The engine needed rebuilding and I wanted more power, so we got a rebuilt 350. 2 birds with one stone. In the next couple months I hope to buy an 89 5spd GTA or 350/auto. I know that tpis don't breathe that well past 4700, but they got torque up the wazoo.

If you were to start all over, what are the best mods to get for either car?

Runners, intake base, tb, Lt1 intake, Stealth ram, headers, catback...what?

I would do:

Full exhaust (headers, gutted cats, 3" catback)
Vigilante Converter
Gears
1.6 roller rockers
Sticky tires

 

I would first off try to find a 90-92 L98 hardtop car. Then do as follows. Full exhaust - subframe connectors - Stealth ram - new cam with around 220 intake duration - AFR 190's.
